Through Climate Smart our team has learned methods to improve our greenhouse gas management. Climate Smart offers a unique combination of training, tools and technical assistance to enable businesses to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to make informed decisions about carbon offsets, and to communicate compellingly about the action we’re taking on climate change.

Through the Climate Smart training program we have learned to:

Calculate our carbon footprint, or greenhouse gas inventory using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the international standard for carbon accounting developed by the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Developed strategies to reduce our emissions. From simply turning off light switches to upgrading equipment and smart vehicle usage of our large fleet of hydrovac vacuum trucks and power sweepers, we work to figure out which ones will work best to cut our emissions.
